Due to COVID-19, the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) Youth Tour has been canceled for 2021. In its place, Blachly-Lane Electric Cooperative is offering two $1,600 scholarships. This is anticipated to be a one-time scholarship offering for 2021 only. The scholarships are for graduating high school seniors.
One scholarship will be awarded to a student furthering their studies at a university or college this fall. One scholarship will be awarded to a student entering vocational school, with preference given to students enrolling in Vocational Outside Line Training Academy (VOLTA).
The applicant’s parent or legal guardian must be a Blachly-Lane member with an active account, and the applicant must live in the home of the member parent/guardian.
Funds will be disbursed once proof of enrollment is received. Once received, scholarship funds will be sent directly to the college, vocational, or lineworker school in the student’s name.
Applications must be received no later than 5:30 p.m., Thursday, April 1, 2021.
Completed applications should be emailed to Pam Spettel, with the subject line Scholarship Program or mailed to:
