Blachly-Lane’s Board of Directors has approved new electric rates effective April 1, 2026, which will appear on the May 2026 bill. Our fundamental responsibility to you is to deliver reliable power to your home and business while keeping bills as low as possible.
To honor that responsibility, we put a high priority on cost management and regularly study our costs to ensure fairness and sustainability. Our 2026 study indicated an overall rate increase of 7.3%, with residential rates increasing 4.3%. The way Blachly-Lane bills residential and small commercial remains the same, including tiered energy rates and second-meter discounts where applicable.
For larger industrial members, rate designs were simplified to make bills easier to understand. A new rate class, LP3, was created for new large users so higher wholesale power costs are covered by those members rather than shared by all.
Our members count on us every day for the energy they need, and we understand that any rate change matters. This adjustment mainly reflects higher wholesale power costs as Blachly-Lane enters a new rate period with our power supplier, BPA. Blachly-Lane carefully manages the costs we can control and works with our energy partners to ensure we supply safe, reliable, and fairly priced electricity to our members.
