Open Forum for Members
Some members requested that we have a place on the web site for
member viewpoints. One of the principles of a cooperative is "open
and voluntary membership". Blachly-Lane is responsive to reasonable
requests from its member/owners. This page is available as an open
forum for members.
Guidelines
This Member Forum is intended for the use of current Cooperative
members to promote feedback and communications about the management
and operation of the Cooperative.
Only current cooperative members may submit messages for posting
on the Member Forum. Messages proposed for submission must include
the member's name.
The Cooperative reserves the right to review and reject any message
submitted, which, in the sole opinion of the Cooperative, potentially
violates any right of privacy, potentially exposes the Cooperative
to liability, is potentially defamatory, or utilizes improper,
undignified, or vulgar language. In particular, the Cooperative
will reject any messages submitted for posting that contain personal
attacks on or negative comments about individuals.
Messages not rejected for one of the foregoing reasons will be
posted as submitted as timely as possible. Postings will be removed
after 45 days.

Pole Testing by Osmose Contractor

Osmose Utilities Services has been contracted by Blachly-Lane to inspect, test, and in some cases treat the wood utility poles serving power to its members. These tests and treatments are part of an on-going maintenance program governed by the Oregon PUC and sound utility maintenance practices.
They are testing and treating poles out of the Alderwood substation along Lawrence Road. The crew should be here for around 3 weeks and will be parking at the lot at the Alderwood substation.

Blachly Sessions for 2010

Blachly Sessions (Area meetings) are scheduled in the Blachly-Lane service area. The purpose of these meetings is to visit with members of the co-op and bring updates on issues affecting electric rates and electric service. It is a time for members to ask questions and get first hand information about their electric cooperative.

Rate Adjustment effective January 1, 2010

Costs at the Cooperative are continuing to increase, like they are for everyone else. We have elected to have a small increase adjustment this coming year, 2010. The Directors have approved a rate increase to the present revenue of approximately 2% effective with the January usage for 2010. This increase will be included on the billing mailed February 5th. The adjustment for each customer class and usage level will vary, but the average revenue increase will be about 2% except for the 3-phase Commercial Class. Recent cost of service studies show revenues for the 3-phase Commercial Class have fallen short of meeting their contribution to margins, resulting in a need for a larger adjustment.
